What are the age and height requirements for driving a kart?
Fun Karts - Drivers must be 7 years and older and a minimum of 1.2 meters tall to drive independently.
2 Seaters – Drivers must be 18 years and older, and passengers must be between 3-8 years old (depending on weight or height).
Pro Karts - Drivers must be 12 years and older and a minimum of 1.2 meters tall to drive independently.
How many karts do you have on the track at the same time?
We have approximately 8-10 karts on the track at the same time during our busy periods.
What does a multi ride mean? (15+15, 10+10)
A multi-ride means you will go around the track in your kart 2 times. For example, if it is for a 15+15 you are paying for a 15-minute race then you will have a rest until you want to do your next 15 minutes, and this is PER PERSON. We cannot allow a 2 people doing this ride and swapping over halfway. This is for the competitive riders that want to either beat their prior time or beat the person they are racing, turning it in to some great banter.
Can I switch drivers halfway through my Kart ride?
No, you cannot. This is for Health and Safety reasons, when you sign in before your kart race you are signing to accept the terms and conditions going on our karts under your name, this is unsafe to have another driver driving under someone else’s name. However, we are always happy to assist you at the counter with getting another ride when you want to keep having fun.
Can Fun Karts and Pro Karts go out together?
No, they cannot. They race separately but use the same track.
Do I need to book in advance?
Bookings are not required but are highly recommended during weekends, holidays, during the summer period or for large groups to ensure availability.
What should I wear for karting?
Comfortable clothing and enclosed shoes are required. We have shoes to loan here, but having your own footwear is always nicer. Avoid loose clothing, neck scarves and ensure long hair is tied as it might get caught while driving, resulting in serious injury or even death.
Is there a weight limit for kart drivers?
Yes, the maximum weight limit for our karts is 130 kg to ensure the safety and proper performance of the karts.
Are there karts available for beginners?
Yes, we offer different speed settings for novice, intermediate, and experienced drivers. Our staff will help adjust the kart to match your skill level. Please let our friendly staff know on arrival and we will do everything we can to make you feel comfortable.
Can I bring my own helmet?
Yes, you can bring your own helmet as long as it meets NZ safety standards. Otherwise, we provide sanitised helmets for all drivers.
How long does a karting session last?
Our sessions are 10 minutes, 15 minutes and multi ride options (For example, 10 + 10 mins, 15 + 15 mins and so on). For group bookings or special events, custom packages and extended sessions are available.
