BETSY FOWLER CO-OWNER Business Development & Strategic Growth Betsy plays a key role in the development and expansion of the business. Her focus is on building partnerships, identifying new opportunities, and driving long-term growth across all locations. Working closely with Nick on strategic planning and new initiatives, she helps shape the future of the business while also maintaining a supportive and approachable presence on-site. CHRISTINA SUTHERLAND OPERATIONS MANAGER & EVENTS CO-ORDINATOR Christina leads weekend operations and manages event planning across the business. She brings strong leadership and an organised approach to both staff supervision and customer-facing events. Her exceptional organisational skills make her highly efficient, ensuring all events and busy periods run smoothly and professionally from start to finish. TOM GRIFFIN Operations Support & Water Quality Manager Tom has been a long-standing and essential part of the team. He oversees weekday operations support and infrastructure maintenance across all areas. He also manages water quality for the spa pools, Hydro Slide, and bumper boat pool—ensuring compliance, safety, and cleanliness. His attention to detail and operational knowledge are second to none. MARK OCARROL MECHANICAL & ENGINEERING SPECIALIST Mark is responsible for all mechanical and engineering repairs across our operations. He maintains go-karts, rides, and facility infrastructure, ensuring everything is safe, functional, and up to standard. From welding to kart component replacement, Mark’s technical expertise keeps our equipment in top shape. He also performs safety checks before repairs are released for use. BEN FRENCH Project Manager & Grounds Coordinator Ben manages landscaping, site presentation, and maintenance task coordination. He assigns jobs, monitors project timelines, and ensures the grounds are kept clean, safe, and welcoming. From garden maintenance to day-to-day repairs, Ben ensures our site stays functional and looking great for every visitor. Since opening in 2006, we have taken full responsibility for keeping every customer and every staff member safe. We are committed to preventing accidents that could cause injury, and we never bend the rules or compromise safety for any reason. Our rules are based on real risks we see every day on the track and are designed to protect you, your family, and everyone around you. If our staff appear strict, it is because we are focused on keeping you safe and preventing injuries. We constantly review and improve our safety policies so you can enjoy your visit with confidence. Safety Video Rules and Guidelines All customers must obey the rules and instructions shown in our safety video. Watching the safety video is compulsory before any ride. Our team may decline or end your session if these rules are not followed. These rules are in place for your protection and must be followed at all times. Track Safety Monitoring We have a full CTV track safety system installed around our circuit, giving us additional eyes on every corner and every driver. Our staff actively monitor these cameras to improve safety, respond quickly to incidents, and ensure that all rules are being followed. This system helps us spot risks that customers may not notice while driving and strengthens our commitment to keeping everyone safe. Age and Height Requirements • Pro Karts are for drivers 12 years and older • Fun Karts are for riders 7 years and older • Two Seater Karts require a driver 18 years and older • Two Seater passengers must be 3 years and older • Minimum height for Pro Karts is 140 centimetres • Minimum height for Fun Karts is 120 centimetres • Staff make the final decision on suitability and safety General Conditions • All participants must follow staff instructions at all times • All riders must be signed in and registered before entering the track • Long hair must be tied back • Remove loose items and secure clothing • Covered footwear is required • Helmets must be worn correctly at all times • No smoking or vaping in activity areas • No alcohol or any form of impairment. Anyone who appears under the influence will be refused entry • Parents cannot overrule or waive safety requirements On Track Rules • No crashing, pushing, or blocking • No dangerous or aggressive driving • Stay seated with both hands on the steering wheel • Keep both feet inside the kart • Do not stop unless instructed • Yellow lights mean slow down • Red lights mean stop immediately • If your kart becomes stuck, remain seated and wait for staff • Do not exit your kart during a session • Staff instructions override all signals for your safety Behaviour Expectations • Respect staff and other participants • Swearing, aggression, or refusal to follow instructions will result in removal • We do not bend or adjust rules under any circumstances • Staff decisions are final • Any behaviour that puts others at risk will end the session immediately Wet Weather Operation We operate in most wet weather conditions. If the track becomes slippery or visibility reduces, we will reduce track speeds when needed. Our team continuously monitors conditions and may pause or adjust sessions for safety. Your safety always comes first. Refunds and Session Changes Once a session has started, no refunds are available. If we need to pause or cancel a session for safety reasons, we will offer a credit or an alternative session time. Our Commitment to Safety We take full ownership of your safety. There had been a lot of BIG TALK back and forwards in the staffroom and on the RT about who was going to be Champion for the day. It was no surprise when a couple of the staff members initially emerged as the ones to beat. Issie was at the top of the leader board going into the final with the best place on the grid, and all through the laps he looked like he had it in the bag… until (Murphy’s law) the last lap it went all wrong (he says he was pushed)… Mike’s Partner, Charmaine breezed past, followed by Ben, then the boss himself. We are very pleased to say that Issie went on to enjoy Scotty’s Gourmet BBQ at Plan B (which was superb, with a relaxing atmosphere and great cocktail menu - cheers Steve) with only a few quiet conversations about how the racing will be different next year! (NZGP event) RADCLIFFE ELECTRICAL We have been to Pro Karts a number of times over the last months, to organised events and also to have some fun just doing laps with mates. All the organised events from the Grand Prix sprint races to the Bathurst endurance events are all very well run. Everyone comes away with a smile and can’t wait for the next track session. We have found it a great way to earn a few brownie points with customers and staff alike, just bloody great fun. A great place to sort out the men from the boys when it comes to driver ability, would highly recommend anyone to give it a go, we will be back there again in the near future. Thanks Nick, well done. Go-karts have rear brakes only, which means if you brake while turning, the kart can easily spin out. Always slow down before the turn while your wheels are straight to maintain control. Brake early, accelerate early – “In slow, out fast.” Approach corners with gentle braking and smooth acceleration. Entering a corner too fast will cause you to slide or drift, which will slow you down significantly. Remember: drifting may look cool, but it’s not the fastest way around the track. Correct a slide with control. If your kart begins to slide, ease off the throttle, apply opposite lock (turn the wheel in the direction of the slide), and regain control before entering the next corner. Smooth driving and precise steering are key to consistent lap times. Use the full width of the track. To carry the most speed through a corner, follow the racing line: enter wide, clip the inside apex, and exit wide. Creating a larger radius allows for smoother and faster cornering.
